Danada House Events

Danada House is not only a wedding and special event venue, it is also a place for the community to gather, slow down, and enjoy this historic estate together. Throughout the year, we host a small number of public events that invite families, neighbors, and friends to experience the house, atrium, and surrounding forest preserve in a relaxed, welcoming way. These events are created and hosted by the Danada House team and our partners, not by private renters. If you are looking to book your own wedding, shower, fundraiser, or celebration, please visit our Plan Your Event page.

History Of The Friends Of Danada Nature Art & Photo Show

For decades, the Friends of Danada Nature Art & Photo Show has been where nature and creativity meet, on purpose, every year. The exhibit began at Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve, then made its way to Danada in 1991. In 1992, Friends of Danada took on full responsibility for producing the show, and has sponsored and financed it ever since.

The show became a fan-favorite during the Danada Fall Festival era, bringing people into Danada House to see nature-themed work up close. It has traditionally attracted roughly 100 to 150 artists and photographers, with creators participating from across the region.

While the timing has evolved, the heart of the show has not. It remains a juried exhibit centered on the natural environment, with familiar categories like Animals, Plants, and Scenery. Friends of Danada notes that the show now runs in early spring, giving artists a winter season to create, then a spring weekend to share the finished work.
